OUR LEARNING PRIORITIES

RESPONSIBILITY AND SELF MANAGEMENT

 Tamariki that show initiative, care for the environment, their things and those of others. Tamariki that know what is expected of them and accept the outcome of their actions, can express their feelings, and needs and take steps to look after their well-being.

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL COMPETENCE

 Tamariki who can manage their emotional responses to life’s ups and downs and work through conflict, disappointment, and frustration. Tamariki that can understand, express, and regulate their emotions, have self-control and an understanding of the impact of their actions. Tamariki that demonstrate positive social behaviours including sharing, cooperating, problem solving, helping, and showing kindness and empathy.

COURAGE AND CURIOSITY

Tamariki who are daring and take risks, overcome challenges, and show determination.  Tamariki that get involved, take an interest, and ask questions, try out new things, show intrigue and wonder.

PERSEVERANCE AND RESILIENCE

Tamariki that persist with difficulty, challenge, and diversity. Tamariki that try new strategies and problem solve, tolerate disappointment and frustration, and accept that learning new skills can take time and practice. Tamariki who have a strong sense of self-worth, believe in themselves and their abilities and encourage others.

COMMUNICATION

Tamariki that use a range of materials and modes to express their ideas, feelings, needs and wants and can listen to and support those of others.  Tamariki that ask questions, listen intently, and have strategies for forming relationships.
